The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to make a massive decision. The possible decision can take the team to a historic point in the history of men's international cricket. If the reports from Cricbuzz are true, then the T20I team of India can take part in two separate competitions at the same time.

The claim might sound shocking, but it can be true. Indian cricket has a high number of talented cricketers to play two different events; the Board will have to form two different teams, which can be possible. But for which two different contents can BCCI make a decision?

How can Team India play in two different events at the same time?

According to the latest report of Cricbuzz, with West Indies' limited-overs tour of India possibly extending into October, India's T20 squad could play the Asian Games in Japan at the same time the ODI team faces WI. Meanwhile, in India, he is the reigning gold medalist at the Asian Games.

West Indies is scheduled to tour during the September and October window

According to the Indian men’s cricket team schedule 2026, the team is scheduled to face the West Indies cricket team during the September-October window. As of now the two teams will play 3 One Day International matches and 5 T20 International games.

But, if the report turns true, then the number of matches of the white-ball series can also be updated. The dates for the India vs West Indies series are yet to be decided. For the series, the West Indies will travel to India.

The Asian Games 2026 are all set to commence from September 19 to October 4 in Japan. India will take the cricket event in Japan as the winners of the previous edition of the Asian Games. The Indian men's cricket team won the gold medal in their debut appearance at the 2022 Asian Games (held in 2023) in Hangzhou, China.

In the final of the 2022 Asian Games, the Men in Blue brigade was up against Afghanistan. The match was abandoned due to rain. Afghanistan went to bat first after losing the toss. After 18.2 overs of the match, when Afghanistan was on 112 for 5, rain overshadowed the summit clash, and did not allow the match to continue.

The Indian Men's National Cricket Team declared it the winner of the match based on their international rankings. As India had the higher rankings in comparison to Afghanistan, the Men in Blue created history.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the captain of the team for the Asian Games. For this event, BCCI mostly prioritized the emerging players including Rinku Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, and Washington Sundar.
