The three-day warm-up game between India and County Select XI has kick-started at the Riverside in Durham with the Rohit Sharma-led unit getting the first crack at batting.
Rohit Sharma is leading the side in the absence of Virat Kohli. Sharma won the toss and he has no hesitation in opting to bat first.
And, one of the bowlers that the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal are facing is their own compatriot in Avesh Khan.
Avesh Khan is one of the standby players that the India selectors had picked for the England tour and the Madhya Pradesh seamer has now earned his first outing ever since he landed in the UK in early June.
That said, Khan has thus far struggled in line and length. In an attempt to get movement, Khan has thus far opted to bowl a fullish length and the Indian openers, especially Mayank Agarwal, are relishing it thus far.
Mayank welcomed Avesh Khan into the bowling attacking by smashing him for a couple of boundaries in his first over before doing an encore of it in his third over while Rohit also chipped in with a sumptuous drive-in his second over.
Khan has given away 24 runs in his first three overs, and, as a result, he has now been taken out of the attack and replaced by the right-arm medium pacer, Lydon James. As per reports, Washington Sundar is also likely to bowl against Team India batters in the warm-up game.

At the time of writing, India had lost their first wicket in the form of Rohit Sharma, who in an attempt to pull Lyndon James, was brilliantly caught by Carson at midwicket.
