"Instead Of Intense Debates...": Kapil Dev Suggests A 'Better Solution' After Deepti Sharma's Run-Out Of Charlotte Dean

The Run out of Charlotte Dean has been making headlines. The rules which say Mankad is no longer unfair are severely criticizing the rule and stating that it is against the spirit of the game. MCC Committee made it clear that it is a legitimate dismissal that could have silenced all the noise.
Deepti Sharma who inflicted that dismissal wouldn’t have thought that runout would become such a big topic. The entire England Women’s Team were distraught as they lost the match by 16 runs only. They almost pulled off a heist. The hosts would be deeply hurt as losing at Iconic Lord’s is very humiliating.
Kapil Dev on Run Out Issue
Legendary Cricketer Kapil Dev made an interesting comment on the whole Mankad incident and rule. “In a situation like this, I feel instead of intense debates every time there should be a simple rule. Deprive the batsmen of their run. It should be deemed a short run. It’s a better solution in my mind,” wrote the World Cup-winning captain in his Instagram story.
Scintillating Performance from Men in Blue
Men in Blue would be ecstatic after winning a series in England. The series also marked the retirement of the senior bowler Jhulan Goswami who had a stellar career. The management should be mightily pleased as defeating the England side is never an easy job. Men in Blue were criticized for their poor performance in T20Is where they were outdone by Mighty Britishers, but the series victory would have silenced all the outside noise.
The management would be worried about the form of the youngster Shafali Verma who has looked scratchy. Throughout the ODI Series, the batter was struggling as the England bowlers targeted her offside weakness. The team would be aware that Shafali is quite young to International Arena and it would take time to get acclimatized to that environment.
