IPL 2021: Here we look at three Indian players who haven’t scored a single boundary in the history of the tournament.
Pragyan Ojha has appeared in Indian Premier Leagues from 2008 to 2015, playing for two franchises in total. He was part of Deccan Charges from 2008 to 2011 and represented Mumbai Indians from 2012 to 2015. The left-arm spinner Ojha has not hit a single boundary in Indian Premier League’s history.
The 34-year-old cricketer has played 92 matches in total in which he scored 17 runs. His total runs in any single season were in single digits. In his last season in IPL 2015, he played just 1 match when he could not score any runs.
Right arm pacer Siddarth Kaul is another player who is yet to score a boundary in IPL. Siddharth Kaul made his debut in the national team in 2018. In IPL, he was part of Delhi Daredevils from 2013 to 2014. Since IPL 2016, the 30-year-old has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Siddhart Kaul played 10 and 17 matches in IPL 2017 and IPL 2018 respectively, however, he was part of just 7 matches in 2019. It dropped to just one match in IPL 2020. In 46 matches in Indian Premier League’s history, Kaul has only managed 12 runs in total with no boundaries.
Yuzvendra Chahal represented Mumbai Indians in IPL 2011, 2012 and 2013. Since 2014, the right-arm leg spinner has been a regular face in Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is the third player in this list who is yet to score a boundary in IPL.
Yuzvendra Chahal has appeared in 99 matches in IPL history. He has only hit 22 runs in total, managing just a single-digit score in any particular season. 4 runs is the 30-year-old Chahal’s highest score, which he accounted for in IPL 2017 and 2019. Yuzvendra Chahal is a full-time bowler, but in international games, he has hit some lofted shots. However, in IPL, Chahal is yet to send the ball towards the boundary ropes.
It would be interesting to see him breaking the shackles in IPL 2021.
