Every Player Has Superstitions: Andre Russell

Kolkata Knight Riders shared a video on social media in which Russell shared his quirky superstitions in cricket. Russell mentioned that one of his superstitions is tapping his bat four times before the bowler approaches him.

“Yeah of course. Every player has superstitions. Some are over the moon, while some are simpler. My superstition would be making sure that my left leg goes over the rope (first) before I enter the field. I tap my bat four times before the bowler approaches me. If I don’t do that, I feel that I am not going to do well when that ball is bowled,” Andre Russell said.

Even after Russell’s majestic knock against Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders ended on a losing note after being short of 18 runs for victory while chasing 221. Russell has so far scored 99 runs in 4 matches in IPL 2021. Earlier, he also bagged a 5-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians.
