England cricketer James Vince is currently a mature top-order batsman in T20 cricket. In the IPL 2021 auction, some franchises can target him to strengthen their top-order batting.
The 29-year-old right-handed top-order batsman James Vince highly impressed in the recent Big Bash League 2020/21. Serving for the defending champions Sydney Sixers, Vince has scored 442 runs in 15 matches (average 34.00; strike-rate 140.76), including three half-centuries. In the Qualifier of this tournament, he unfortunately missed his second T20 century as he remained on 98 not out after Andrew Tye‘s wide finished their successful chasing.
While Vince has represented England in every international format, he has played 12 T20Is for his national team. Not only in BBL, he has also experienced Pakistan Super League (PSL), Super Smash and Mzansi Super League (MSL). But he hasn’t experienced the IPL yet.
But in the IPL 2021 auction, some franchises can put strong bids for him after watching his recent BBL performances.
IPL 2021 Auction: 3 teams which can target James Vince
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
While Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have recently released many of their big names, Australian limited-overs captain Aaron Finch is one of them. As RCB are busy to restructure their side for the IPL 2021, they can look for the fresh overseas cricketers and English cricketer James Vince can be a good option for them.
Ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, RCB can add three more overseas cricketers. Some fresh good top-order batsmen can make their batting line-up stronger as captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain AB de Villiers can bat more freely.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) can add two more overseas cricketers and they must need at least one good opening batsman, who can set up the solid foundation in their innings with the opening partner Shubman Gill.
English cricketer James Vince definitely can be a good option for the KKR, especially after his remarkable performances in the latest BBL season. So, in the IPL 2021 auction, KKR team management can put strong bid for this English batsman.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
As CSK can add only one overseas cricketer, the franchise is likely to play very secure role in the upcoming IPL 2021 auction. If James Vince available in the forthcoming auction, CSK may go for him due to his present T20 batting form.
