IPL 2021 Auction: 3 Teams Which Can Target Wes Agar

In the IPL 2021 auction, the 23-year-old Australian fast bowler Wes Agar can be a special target at least for some franchises due to his recent performances in the Big Bash League 2020/21.

Wes Agar is the younger brother of Australian left-arm spinner Ashton Agar. Unlike his elder brother, Wes dominates with his fast bowling. He is one of the growing up fast bowlers in Australian cricket, who won the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year 2020.

In the Big Bash League 2020/21, Adelaide Strikers’ fast bowler Wes Agar got 22 wickets in 15 matches, including one four-wicket haul. He has already taken 41 wickets in 32 T20 matches.

In the IPL 2021 auction, he can be in huge demand of some teams, who are searching for overseas fast bowlers.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

The three-time runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are desperate to end their trophy drought soon. So, they are currently busy to restructure their squad. Currently, ahead of the IPL 2021 auction, RCB need three more overseas cricketers.

On the other hand, they have three pacers (Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj and Kane Richardson) and two pace-bowling all-rounders (Daniel Sams and Harshal Patel). While they need to add more fast bowlers in the squad, young Australian fast bowler Wes Agar can be a good option for them.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)

While Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have five pacers, including the experienced Indian pacer Mohammed Shami and English pacer Chris Jordan, they have no all-rounders. So, they need some more good pacers in the squad for the IPL 2021.

Meanwhile, KXIP can add five more overseas cricketers out of their 11 available slots in their present squad. To make their squad stronger in the pace bowling, Australian fast bowler Wes Agar can be a good option. So, it will be an interesting to see KXIP’s approach if Wes Agar becomes available for the IPL 2021 auction.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

The record five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians (MI) always show their higher interest to the talented youngsters. So, this time they can target Wes Agar as they have only one overseas fast bowler (Trent Boult) in the squad after releasing some top overseas pacers ahead of the IPL 2021 auction.

Mumbai Indians still can add four overseas cricketers. Moreover, they have only four pacers in the squad. So, there is a good chance that this dominating franchise will put some strong bids for Wes Agar.
