IPL 2021 auction has almost arrived and there are less than 24 hours left for the event to take place. Indian cricket fans are eager to witness the auction, which takes place in Chennai on February 18, 2021, at 3 PM IST. A total of 292 players have made it to the final list of the auction. These include a lot of well-known players, as well as many youngsters, some of whom are eyeing a debut in the Indian Premier League.

Many youngsters who eye a debut in IPL keep their base price low compared to others. However, if their skills are impeccable, franchises do not shy away from spending huge amounts on them. Here we take a glance at 5 cricketers under 21 age who can massive bid in Indian Premier League 2021 auction.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is a young talented bowler from Afghanistan who has impressed a lot of cricket fans recently. The 19-year-old cricketer was part of Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018 and showed amazing bowling skills in the season. He grabbed 14 wickets in 11 matches and entertained everyone with his magical spin bowling. He was dropped by KXIP followed a relatively poor season in IPL 2019 and 2020.

Although right-arm off-break bowler Rahman is very young, he has a lot of domestic league experience. Rahman plays for Comilla Victorians in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Nangarhar Leopards in Afghanistan Premier League (APL) and Brisbane Heat in Big Bash League (BPL). So he might get a massive bid in IPL 2021 auction.

Tanveer Sangha

Tanveer Sangha is an Australia spinner who is just 19 years old. The right-arm leg break bowler came to the limelight in Big Bash League 2020-21. Playing his debut T20 league for Sydney Thunders, Sangha accounted for 21 wickets in 14 games. The Australia spinner has kept a base price of Rs. 20 lakh in IPL 2021 auction. Franchises will go after him considering his spectacular stint in BBL.

Akash Singh

Akash Singh is a left-arm pacer who has been part of the under-19 India team at U-19 Asia Cup 2019. The Indian team finished runners-up in the tournament. The 18-year-old bowler has a base price of Rs. 20 lakh in IPL 2021 auction. Rajasthan Royals bought Akash Singh in IPL 2020 auction; however, he didn’t get an opportunity to play in the final 11. Being a left-arm bowler, Akash has a good advantage in the bowling zone. So he might get a lot of attention from the eight franchises during the auction.

Sandeep Lamichhane

Sandeep Lamichhane is one of the most popular cricketers from Nepal. He is another young player on the list who can attract a massive bid. The leg-break googly bowler has represented Delhi Capitals in IPL 2018 and IPL 2019. With his spin tactics on the pitch, Sandeep took 8 wickets in 6 matches in IPL 2019, a decent performance to look out for.

Moreover, Sandeep has a lot of T20 experience around the world. He has played for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Jamaica Tallawahs in Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Nangarhar Leopards in Afghanistan Premier League (APL), Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League (BPL). With such international exposure, Sandeep Lamichhane might invite a bigger bid than his base price of Rs. 40 lakh in IPL 2021 auction.

Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun Tendulkar has powerful roots as he is the son of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Unlike Sachin Tendulkar, he is a left-handed batsman and left-arm pacer. He came to the limelight in T20 Mumbai League 2018. With his all-rounder ability, the 21=year-old Arjun qualified for Mumbai in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21. Arjun is yet to showcase his cricketing talent on a larger platform, but he is surely an important young figure which franchises might find appealing. He has a base price of Rs. 20 lakh but might attract bigger bids from franchises.
