IPL 2021: MS Dhoni Reaches Another Milestone, Becomes 1st Wicketkeeper To Reach 150 Dismissals in Indian Premier League

MS Dhoni has reached another milestone in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he has become the first wicketkeeper to reach 150 dismissals. The Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni achieved this feat during the IPL 2021 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Chennai Super Kings managed to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs in the match.

Chennai Super Kings batted first in the match and smashed a mammoth 220-3. Ruturaj Gaikwad played a magnificent knock of 64 runs while Faf du Plessis smashed unbeaten 95 runs. MS Dhoni also played a cameo of 17 runs off 8 balls in the match.  Kolkata Knight Riders’ top order was crushed by Deepak Chahar, who took 4 wickets in the match. Later, Andre Russell (54), Dinesh Karthik (40), and Pat Cummins (66) played some great knocks. However, KKR were bowled out for 202 in the end.

MS Dhoni Reaches 150 Dismissals in IPL

In the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, MS Dhoni took 3 catches to reach the milestone of 150 dismissals in IPL. He now has 151 dismissals in his name, out of which there are 112 catches and 39 stumpings. Dinesh Karthik holds the 2nd spot with 143 dismissals in IPL so far. The Kolkata Knight Riders’ player Dinesh Karthik has taken 112 catches and undertook 31 stumpings.

Dhoni reached the milestone of 150 dismissals after grabbing Nitish Rana’s catch off Deepak Chahar’s delivery. Rana got an edge after attempting to flick the ball. The ball went to square leg and MS Dhoni ran quickly to catch the ball. Other than Nitish Rana, MS Dhoni also took catches of Rahul Tripathi and Eoin Morgan in the match.

Chennai Super Kings started their IPL 2021 journey with a defeat against Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets. However, the Dhoni-led side has bounced back with three consecutive victories in the last three games. After losing to Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets, Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs, and Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs.

With 3 victories in 4 matches, CSK has moved to the top of the points table with 6 points. Chennai Super Kings will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore, the only team that has been unbeaten in IPL 2021 so far. CSK vs RCB match will take place on April 25 at Wankhede Stadkum in Mumbai.
