IPL 2021: Updated Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap – After Match 24

In the first game of Thursday (29th April) double-header, which was also the 24th match of the IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets at Delhi.
After Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss, he chose to bowl first. While Rajasthan Royals scored 171/4 (20 overs) in the first innings, Mumbai Indians chased down that target in 18.3 overs after losing three wickets.
The top-order Rajasthan Royals batsmen scored positively but failed to manage the big scores as openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 41 and 32 runs respectively while captain Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube scored 42 and 35 runs respectively.
Among the Mumbai Indians bowlers, Rahul Chahar got two wickets (2/33) while Jasprit Bumrah (1/15) and Trent Boult (1/37) picked up one wicket each.
In reply, Quinton de Kock’s 70 not out off 50 balls (6 fours and 2 sixes) strongly guided the defending champions to successfully chase the 172 runs target. Also, Krunal Pandya scored crucial 39 runs.
Among Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers, Chris Morris got two wickets (2/33) while Mustafizur Rahman picked up a wicket (1/37).
