Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was not the best team at the IPL Auctions as they lost the opportunity to grab any of the marquee players and spent whopping amounts for the likes of Alzarri Joseph and Yash Dayal.

Both the Gujarat Titans pacer had a terrible IPL 2023 outing. Yash Dayal was smoked for five sixes in an over by Rinku Singh in a match between KKR and GT whereas Alzarri Joseph was very expensive in most of the matches for GT.

RCB also purchased players like Lockie Ferguson, Tom Curran, and Will Jacks in the auctions. They have a good squad this season but one thing that they lack is a capped spin bowler. Karn Sharma is the only leg-spinner to play in the squad and other than that the RCB line-up lacks spin attack.

However, they have a good pace attack this year and their batting has always been a dominant force with the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell in the squad.

The impact player rule was introduced in the IPL last year which allows teams to substitute one player and introduce another player as an impact substitute in the middle of the game. This rule was a huge success in the IPL as it allowed a lot of young players to showcase their talents on the big stage. Let’s see which players RCB can use as impact substitutes in the upcoming IPL 2024.

IPL 2024: 3 Players That RCB Can Use As Impact Players In The Tournament

1. Vijaykumar Vyshak:

Vijaykumar Vyshak, a bowler from Karnataka was picked by RCB in the IPL 2023 as a replacement to injured Reece Topley. He was the most used impact player by RCB in the IPL 2023. He was used as an impact player whenever RCB used to bowl second in a match.

This tactic allowed RCB to play an extra batter during their batting and then substitute Vyshak as a bowler to bowl during RCB’s bowling. The Bangalore-based franchise can still use this tactic to play an extra batter during their innings.

2. Will Jacks:

If RCB wants to use an overseas player as an impact substitute then no better option than Will Jacks. Will Jacks has a terrific strike rate in T20 cricket. He has been impressive in all T20s scoring more than 3500 runs at a strike rate of 157.16 which includes 29 fifties and a century.

He is one of the few players who have scored a century in ‘The Hundred Competition’. A perfect impact player material for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming IPL.

3. Saurav Chauhan:

The 23-year-old youngster is another option for Royal Challengers Bangalore to use as an impact player. He has a terrific strike rate In T20 cricket and is known for his boundary-hitting abilities. He has scored 464 runs in 19 T20 matches at an average of 29 and has a strike rate of 152. 13.

He can be a perfect fit for RCB as an impact player, not to forget the occasional off-break that he can deliver. He is also a safe wicketkeeper and can be used as a 4-dimensional player.
