IPL 2024: "Still Can’t Believe..." - Harleen Deol's Dream Comes True As She Meets MS Dhoni

Former Indian captain and Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni will be once again back in action on the cricket field in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. MSD received huge love from the fans during the last edition of the IPL, after which he promised to play yet another season of the cash-rich league. Dhoni went through knee surgery after IPL 2023 and is sweating it out in the gym to regain full fitness.

While glimpses of MS Dhoni‘s interaction with the fans are very common these days, Dhoni met Indian women’s cricket team cricketer Harleen Deol. Deol recently had an interaction with MSD while working out at the JSCA Cricket Stadium in Ranchi and posted glimpses of the same on her official Instagram handle.

Harleen Deol captioned the post, “The moment which felt surreal. Cherishing every minute spend with my idol. It’s already cold in India But this my Captain cool moment … Have idolised you as a player but after meeting you I am gonna idolise you as a person as well … Still Can’t believe , I really met you.”

Harleen Deol was recently part of the Indian women’s cricket team in the ODI series against Australia. Deol will now prepare for the upcoming edition of the Women’s Premier League, where she is set to play for the Gujarat Giants. Deol will want to perform well in the next WPL edition and help the Giants win their first-ever title.

Getting back to MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain and veteran wicketkeeper-batsman won the fifth title for the Chennai Super Kings by defeating Gujarat Titans in the final. The IPL 2023 was supposed to be the last IPL edition for MSD but after the final against Gujarat Titans, Dhoni announced that he will play yet another season.

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020 after being one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team. Dhoni has won a total of three ICC trophies for India which includes one T20 World Cup, one ODI World Cup, and one Champions Trophy.

MS Dhoni has been one of the major keys to success for the Chennai Super Kings as he has been the captain of the team since the inaugural edition of the tournament. While Ravindra Jadeja was handed over the captaincy in 2022, he was not able to take over Dhoni’s legacy, and in the middle season, MSD took over the captaincy again.

Apart from being a brilliant skipper MS Dhoni has a brilliant quality to groom the players. Players such as R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami were groomed under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

With the IPL 2024 coming, MS Dhoni will want to win yet another title for CSK and will want to give a fairytale end to his IPL career. However, it will be all up to MSD, if IPL 2024 be his last or not.
