Gujarat Titans (GT) have potentially announced their retentions ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. The governing council of the league has set the deadline for the teams to announce their list of retained and released players as 31st October.

With just a few days remaining before the deadline, Gujarat Titans subtly have confirmed that they will be retaining two players ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. The franchise potentially might retain India National Cricket Team batter Shubman Gill and Afghanistan National Cricket Team leg-spinner Rashid Khan.

Shubman Gill likely to go under the hammer in the IPL 2025 auction, claimed a report

This comes after that there have been a lot of reports surrounding the retention of Gujarat Titans. A recent report claimed that the franchise will be keeping Rashid Khan as their first retention, and this hasn't gone well with the young India National Cricket Team batter.

It was claimed that Shubman Gill is likely to go under the hammer in the IPL 2025 auction, which will take place in the last week of November. The young batter was the captain of the team last year and didn't have a great outing as the leader.

Rashid Khan to move to Mumbai Indians?

On the other hand, some other reports suggested that Rashid Khan also will not be staying with Gujarat Titans. It was learned that the leg-spinner is in contact with Mumbai Indians and it is expected that he will be playing for the five-time Champions in the league.

Rashid Khan has been playing with Mumbai Indians in the other leagues apart from the IPL. He is part of MI Emirates, MI Cape Town, and MI New York. The reports claimed that the franchise owners have had meetings with him to discuss the terms of a potential move to MI.

Both Gill and Rashid have played a massive role in the success of the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. They were one of the main reasons why the franchise won the title in 2022 and then were runners-up in the next edition of the league.

Rashid Khan, who was one of the draft picks for Gujarat Titans in the league in 2022, has taken 56 wickets for them in 45 matches with the best figures of 4/24. He also has taken a hat-trick for the team and has been handy for the team with the bat as well.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill has been one of the best batters in the IPL. He had 483 runs under his belt from 16 games in his first season with GT. His best came in 2023, where he slammed 890 runs. In the last season, he mustered 426 runs for the team in 12 games and was the key batter for his team.
