IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians' schedule for first three games revealed

Mumbai Indians (MI) won't be playing their first few games of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at their home ground in Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the five-time champions will be playing the first two games away.
After the two away games, Mumbai Indians will be returning home and will be playing their first game at Wankhede Stadium on 31st March. However, it is yet to be known who they will be playing in the first three games. The dates for the first two matches are yet to be announced as well.

A source close to Times of India confirmed the development and said: "MI will play their first two matches away, before playing their first home game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 31."
Mumbai Indians will be captained by Hardik Pandya in this season. The all-rounder was appointed as the skipper of the team last year, and under him, the team didn't have a great outing as they finished last on the points table, losing 10 out of the 14 games that they played in the tournament.

Hardik Pandya had a tough outing as the skipper last year. Apart from failing to score runs and taking wickets, he wasn't accepted by fans as the captain. He was booed by the Wankhede Stadium crowd, and they teased him with "Rohit Rohit" chants throughout the season.
However, with all well with him now, Hardik Pandya would be keen to make a strong comeback and help his team win. Mumbai Indians have a strong squad this time around as well and it's fair to say that if they play to their potential, no one can stop them from lifting the title.
Mumbai Indians are the joint most successful team in the IPL, with 5 titles under their belt. They will be having an Indian core of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah. Along with these, they also have some big match winners in Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Mitchell Santner, and others.

The reports in Times of India also claimed that Gujarat Titans will be playing their first match on 25th March at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The domestic players of the Shubman Gill-led side will be beginning camp in Surat on Sunday (16th February).
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will see Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru playing the tournament opener on 22nd March at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It will be the first time since 2008 that both teams will be playing in the tournament opener.
