Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal shared an emotional message on social media following the franchise's decision to release Rishabh Pant during the IPL 2025 mega auction. In his heartfelt post, Parth Jindal called Rishabh Pant his "younger brother" following their nine-year journey together.

Pant made his debut in the Indian Premier League with the Delhi Capitals in the 2016 season. The left-handed batter became the captain of the team in 2021 and secured wins in 23 out of 43 games. He was the team's top scorer in the IPL 2024, amassing 446 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 155.40.

Rishabh Pant Becomes the Most Expensive Player in IPL History

The Delhi-based franchise released the wicketkeeper-batter ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Multiple franchises showed interest in acquiring Pant, but Lucknow Super Giants secured the highest bid of Rs 20.75 crore. However, the Delhi Capitals retained Pant using the RTM (Right to Match) card.

Nevertheless, the Super Giants increased their bid to a record-breaking Rs 27 crore. Delhi Capitals could no longer match the offer. Following this, the 27-year-old player became the most expensive player in IPL history. Shreyas Iyer was sold to Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 26.75 crore just minutes earlier.

You Will Always Remain My Younger Brother - Parth Jindal

Parth Jindal has had a cordial relationship with Rishabh Pant since JSW Sports' involvement in 2018. Jindal expressed love for Pant and wished him success in his new journey. He hoped for a future reunion in the Indian Premier League.

"To Rishabh @RishabhPant17 you are and will always remain my younger brother - from the bottom of my heart I love you and I have tried everything to make sure you are happy and have treated you like my family. I am very sad to see you go and I am very emotional about it."

Best wishes from all of us at @DelhiCapitals - other than when you play DC I will be cheering and hoping for the best for you," he added.
