IPL Auction 2024: 333 Cricketers Shortlisted As IPL 2024 Player Auction List Gets Announced

On Monday, December 11, the governing body officially announced the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) Player Auction list. Some of the big names have been shortlisted to go under the hammer at the upcoming auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction will be held on December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. It will be a mini-auction and for the first time, the event will be held outside India. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction will coincide with the second ODI of India’s tour of South Africa, which is scheduled for December 19 in Gqeberha.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had set November 26 as the deadline for the franchises to announce the list of their retained and released players. The teams announced their lists but the trade window remains open until December 12, a week before the auction.
Several trades took place ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, but the biggest trade came when the Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya was transferred to his old franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) in an all-cash deal. Notably, Hardik Pandya had a lot of success with the franchise as he won the IPL 2022 title as skipper with Gujarat Titans (GT) and led them to the final in IPL 2023.
IPL 2024 Player Auction List Announced
Coming back to the IPL 2024 Player Auction list, which consists of 333 cricketers, 214 players in the list are Indians and 119 are from overseas, among which 2 are from associate nations.
Also, out of the 333 players, 116 are capped players, 215 are uncapped players and 2 are from associate nations. Although 333 names have been finalized for the IPL 2024 Auction, only 77 could be acquired as only those many slots are open among all 10 teams. Out of 77 slots, 30 are for the overseas players.
This time around 23 players have placed themselves in the INR 2 crore bracket and 13 players have decided to place themselves in the INR 1.5 crore bracket.
