IPL 2024 Auction changed a lot of fortunes overnight with players earning in crores. The most expensive purchase was made in the history of IPL for Australian pacer Mitchell Starc who bagged 24.75 crores from Kolkata Knight Riders. However, South African pacer Nandre Burger who recently made his debut for South Africa also landed a deal where he was picked by Rajasthan Royals for a base price amount of 50 lacs.
Nandre Burger was initially on the uncapped list but later was moved to the capped category right before the IPL auction after he made his debut for South Africa in the series against India. Nandre Burger was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for his base price of 50 lacs. He is a left-arm pacer and has played two ODIs and one T20I for South Africa.
South African opener Tony de Zorzi who scored a ton for South Africa in the second ODI against India stated that Burger should use the money he got in the auction for the team. He also mentioned that he is Burger’s roommate for this series and he is expecting something. Tony wants a part of Nandre Burger’s IPL deal as a gratitude for helping him.
“He needs to use that money on the team because we helped him get there. I am also his roommate on tour so I am expecting something,” said Tony de Zorzi on Nandre Burger’s IPL deal with Rajasthan Royals. Nandre Burger took three wickets against India in the second ODI of the three-match series. The series is currently leveled on 1-1.
