With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction a few days away, 19-year-old batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi garnered attention from cricket fans. There were speculations that Angkrish Raghuvanshi might be targeted by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi came to the limelight during the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he was India's highest run-scorer. He played a crucial role in helping the team secure the trophy. The right-handed batter showed glimpses of his talent in his limited chances during the Indian Premier League 2024.
Raghuvanshi was acquired by the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), for Rs 20 lakh in last year's IPL auction. He played 10 matches for the Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 season. The young batter scored 163 runs at an average of 23.3 and an impressive strike rate of 155.24, including one fifty.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi is likely to be a good fit for RCB in IPL 2025, given his aggressive batting style and versatility in the top order. He is viewed as a potential long-term asset for the franchise. Raghuvanshi is being considered as a No. 3 batter, while Ashutosh Sharma is seen for a finisher's role.
In addition to Raghuvanshi and Sharma, other players such as Delhi pacer Money Grewal, M Siddharth, Manvanth Kumar, and Deepak Devadiga also participated in the RCB trials.
Trials Don’t Guarantee That the Players Will Be Part of RCB’s IPL 2025 Squad
The trials don’t guarantee that the players will be part of RCB’s IPL 2025 squad, but they signal the franchise’s interest in targeting them.
RCB still has a huge purse of Rs 83 crore and three RTM cards available after retaining Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal, and Rajat Patidar in the IPL 2025 retention. The team will also make use of their RTM cards, especially after releasing some big names who were key performers for them.
