Ahead of the IPL Auction 2025, the full list of players all set to be retained by all 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises has been revealed.
Thursday, October 31, 5 PM IST, is the deadline for the submission of a list of retained and released players to the governing council ahead of the IPL Auction 2025.
The IPL Auction 2025 is likely to be held at the end of November, and it will be the start of a new three-year cycle (2025-27). Also, the IPL Governing Council has allowed the franchises to retain as many as six players, including direct retentions and the Right To Match option, from their current squads and the teams have finalized their decisions.

The winners of the last editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) - Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) - have decided to retain their core group ahead of the auction, according to ESPNcricinfo.
IPL 2024 champions KKR have decided to part ways with their skipper Shreyas Iyer and star all-rounder Andre Russell, with Sunil Narine, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy locked in as four retentions.
MS Dhoni is all set to feature in IPL 2025 after being retained in the uncapped category and the other four retentions of the franchise are Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, and Matheesha Pathirana.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan headline Gujarat Titans' retentions, who have also decided to retain Sai Sudharsan along with uncapped Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan.

As per the same report, things have been pretty sorted at Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), with the franchise retaining their top performers from the previous season, but at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), there has been a major change.
LSG have decided to part ways with their captain, KL Rahul, and retained Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi, along with the uncapped Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni.
SRH have retained their captain Pat Cummins, but not as top retention with Heinrich Klaasen taking that spot. The other three retentions of the franchise are Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Nitish Reddy.
Meanwhile, RR will enter the auction with Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and uncapped Sandeep Sharma already present in the squad.

According to Cricbuzz, Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have taken some bold steps ahead of the mega auction.
Starting with MI, they have retained the big four - Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah - along with Tilak Varma and uncapped Naman Dhir
RCB reportedly have retained Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and uncapped Yash Dayal. However, the major development at RCB is that the superstar batter Virat Kohli is likely to be reappointed as the skipper after previously stepping down from the role.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals (DC) have shockingly parted ways with superstar wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and retained Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk and uncapped Abishek Porel, as per reports.
At last, Punjab Kings have once again decided to revamp the entire squad as they have retained just two players -Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh - in the uncapped category.
