IPL Auction 2025 Live Updates: KL Rahul a top target for RCB

The IPL Auction 2025 is all set to break a lot of records in the history of the Indian Premier League. The IPL 2025 Mega Auction buzz is already on fire with all IPL teams finalizing their IPL retentions 2025 ahead of the Mega Auction. The BCCI is also engrossed in finalizing a Date, Time, and Venue for the IPL 2025 auction.

As per the latest reports, the BCCI has finalized Riyadh as the venue for the Grand Showdown of Indian cricket. As for the IPL auction 2025 date, fresh reports suggest that November 24 and November 25, 2024, could be the 2 days the Grand event takes place.

A lot of Indian and international players from all IPL franchises including Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Supergiants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be trying their luck in IPL auction 2025.

IPL Auction 2025: Indian Premier League teams get the biggest Purse Value

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will truly be a magnanimous affair as for the first time in IPL history, all the Indian Premier League teams will be getting a purse value of INR 120 Crores each. Before the IPL auction, the BCCI has instructed all the franchises to submit their IPL Retention 2025 list by 31/10/2024 at 5:00 pm IST.

If a franchise opts for all 5 retentions, they will have to shell out INR 75 Crores out of the INR 120 Crores Purse Value on the 5 players that they decide to retain. Several teams, including but not limited to Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and RCB might go for a complete overhaul and hence, the retention of players is highly unlikely in these franchises.

IPL giants CSK and Mumbai Indians are bent on retaining a lot of their core group players. CSK have received a stunning deal from BCCI after the Indian Cricket Board brought back the old rule of retaining any Indian player as an uncapped player for just INR 4 Crores if the player has not played for India in the last 5 years and does not own a BCCI Central Contract.

This has allowed CSK to retain their Talisman, MS Dhoni, a confirmation on which the franchise CEO deliberated quite recently. In this IPL auction 2025 live blog, we will provide you with all the latest news and updates on the IPL 2025 mega auction and player transfers until the end of the IPL 2025 auction.
