IPL Auction 2025: 'Mindless' RCB accused of 'playing with fans' emotions' after ignoring KL Rahul

Fans on Twitter reacted after KL Rahul wasn't picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction. The mega auction of the next edition of the league is underway at the Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on Sunday (24th November).

There won't be a homecoming for KL Rahul in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Ahead of the auction, there were a lot of reports that claimed that Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be going all in for KL Rahul as they need a leader as well as the opener in the team.

With Punjab Kings going for Shreyas Lyer and Lucknow Super Giants going for Rishabh Pant, it was almost certain that Royal Challengers Bengaluru would go for KL Rahul. There was a lot of buzz related to the same as well but the Bengaluru-based franchise surprised many.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were the second team to bid for KL Rahul after Kolkata Knight Riders. The two teams were involved in a bidding war till INR 10.75 crore before the Bengaluru-based franchise pulled out of the bidding and let Chennai Super Kings enter the war.

It was ultimately Delhi Capitals, who stole the deal and acquired the services of KL Rahul for INR 14 crore. It's fair to say that it was a massive steal for the Delhi-based franchise as they got the keeper-batter for a very low price as it was expected that he would go over INR 20 crore.

KL Rahul expected to take over the leadership role at the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025

With Delhi Capitals acquiring KL Rahul, it is almost certain that the keeper-batter will be captaining the team in the league. He has been one of the best batters in the league for the last few years. The opening batter has run consistently for the teams he played for.

KL Rahul captained Punjab Kings for two seasons before moving to Lucknow Super Giants. Under his leadership, the team made playoffs in two seasons before ending in the bottom half of the table in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He would be hoping to help Delhi Capitals end their title drought and help them win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
