The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction saw history getting scripted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday (25th November). Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest-ever player to be sold in the auction.
The 13-year-old Vaibhav was acquired by Rajasthan Royals on Day 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2025. The winners of the inaugural edition of the league were involved in a bidding war with Delhi Capitals (DC) and took the bid to over 1 crore.

Suryavanshi, who hails from Bihar, recently made himself a huge name after he became the fastest hundred by an Indian in Under-19 Tests. He achieved the feat in the game against the Australia Under-19 team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and caught the attention of many.

Suryavanshi, during his innings, hit 14 boundaries and 4 sixes in a destructive knock. The young batter then went on to make his debut in the Ranji Trophy and became the fourth-youngest Indian to make his debut in a recorded first-class match at the age of 12 years and 284 days when he played against Mumbai.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi also featured in the quadrangular series involving India U19 A, India U19 B, England U19 and Bangladesh U19. The 13-year-old had a decent outing in the series as he registered scores of 53, 74, 0, 41, and 0 in the tournament.
Suryavanshi will be playing under the leadership of Sanju Samson and Rahul Dravid. It will be a massive step in the career of a young player as he will get to learn from the best. It's fair to say that under their guidance, he will be one of the aspects of the future.
