RCB vs CSK: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 52nd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday (3rd May).
Royal Challengers Bengaluru were asked to bat, and they had a brutal start to their innings as both the openers, Virat Kohli (62) and Jacob Bethell (55), came out all guns blazing. They set the stage on fire in the powerplay as they added 97 runs for the opening partnership inside ten overs.
However, after that, Chennai Super Kings pulled back things brilliantly as they reduced the home side to 157 for five. But, Romario Shepherd (53*) came out with different plans. He slammed the fastest fifty for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the league, and his brutal innings in the end took the hosts to a massive total of 213 for five.
Chasing the target, Chennai Super Kings openers Ayush Mhatre (94) and Shaik Rasheed (14) added 51 runs for the opening partnership to provide a great platform for their team. Sam Curran, at three, also failed as Chennai was left at 58 for two.
However, after that, Mhatre and Ravindra Jadeja (77*) joined hands and brought their team back into the game. Both the batters slammed half-centuries as the duo added runs for the third wicket to put Royal Challengers Bengaluru under pressure.
The hosts then picked two back-to-back wickets to tighten the game. Jadeja and MS Dhoni (12) tried their best to take their team home but failed. Yash Dayal saved 15 runs off the last over to win the game for his team.
