RCB vs PBKS took place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday (18th April). The 34th game of the cash-rich league between the teams took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and it saw the Shreyas Iyer-led side registering another impressive win.
In what turned into a 14-over clash due to rain, Royal Challengers Bengaluru batted first after losing the toss and had a terrible start with the bat as both the inform openers in Phil Salt and Virat Kohli perished early.
Skipper Rajat Patidar (23) walked out at three and looked to take on the bowlers right from the start. He played some magnificent shots but didn't get support from the other end as Royal Challengers Bengaluru kept losing wickets quickly.
With the hosts struggling at 63 for nine, Tim David (50*) came up with the magical hand down the order. He slammed a brutal half-century to take Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a total of 95 for nine. For Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Harpreet Brar took two wickets each.
Punjab Kings had a decent start to their innings with Prabhsimran Singh (13) and Priyansh Arya (16) playing some shots in the powerplay. However, both couldn't carry on the start they had as Punjab was reduced to 32 for two.
Soon after that, Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis also fell as Royal Challengers Bengaluru came to the top. However, it was Nehal Wadhera (33*) who took the responsibility and played a vital innings as Punjab Kings chased the target with five wickets in hand.
