RCB vs RR: Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals clashed with each other in the 42nd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday (24th April).
Asked to bat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were off to a flying start with the bat with Phil Salt (26) and Virat Kohli (70) going great guns at the top. The home side had an opening partnership of 61 runs, and that set the platform.
Devdutt Padikkal (50) did further damage with their 95-run stand as Rajasthan Royals came under massive pressure. Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (20) also played decent hands as Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a total of 206 for five.
In the chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal (49) took Rajasthan Royals were off to a flying start even though he didn't get any great support from Vaibhav Suryavanshi (16). The duo stitched 51 runs for the opening partnership, but after that, they lost wickets quickly.
Nitish Rana (28), who walked at three, played brilliantly and held one end up, but couldn't find support and ended up giving his wicket. Skipper Riyan Parag (22) tried to be aggressive, but he couldn't carry on that as Rajasthan Royals were left tottering at 162 for five.
Dhruv Jurel (47) brought Rajasthan back into the game with his brilliant innings. However, there was a twist in the tale again as Josh Hazlewood tilted the game in Bengaluru's favour with two wickets in the penultimate over before Yash Dayal sealed the game for his team in the last over as Royal Challengers Bengaluru won by 11 runs.

After RCB vs RR Match 42- IPL 2025, RCB moved to third spot after the win over Rajasthan Royals, who are eight. Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals held the top two spots. Mumbai Indians are now on 4th, followed by Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. KKR, RR, SRH and CSK are next.
