On Thursday, October 31, the Indian Premier League (IPL) officially announced the list of the players retained by all 10 franchises ahead of the mega auction.
According to the rules, franchises were allowed to retain six players from their IPL 2024 squad. Out of six players, a maximum of five players were allowed to be capped internationals, and a maximum of two players were allowed to be uncapped cricketers.
All the teams were given Right To Match options for the mega auction. If a team retained three out of six players, they would enter the auction with three RTMs. Also, each team got an increase of 20% in their purse to build a squad, which led to the franchises having INR 120 crore to invest.
