The Irish team will open the innings in the second T20I against West Indies with two of their most experienced batter, captain Paul Stirling and former captain Andrew Balbirnie.

The pair has earned a reputation for stamping their authority on the game with their elegant strokeplay, especially in the first six overs.

Stirling played a match-winning knock in the first of three ODIs against the same opposition last month and was well supported by Balbirnie, who also scored a half-century.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Ross Adair, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Stephen Doheny, George Dockrell, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little,

Like the openers, Ireland's middle order will depend heavily on Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker, both of whom are the most experienced batters and have the ability to control things in the middle overs.

The reason why the two are the most important batters in the Irish middle order is that the team has a relatively young batting lineup and lacks depth as well.

The likes of Ross Adair and Stephen Doheny are new to international cricket. To add to that, the hosts don't have a specialist batter batting at number seven, which is generally the case in T20 cricket.

Ireland needs to bat well if they are to post an above-par total to challenge a West Indies batting lineup that bats effectively till number eleven.

Bowlers: Ben White, Gavin Hoey

As far as the Irish bowling lineup is concerned, the Paul Stirling-led side has a potent bowling attack, especially in the fast bowling department, with the likes of Barry McCarthy and Josh Little taking charge.

The duo is among the most experienced fast-bowling pairs in the Irish team and would want to get things going in their favor from the first ball of their bowling innings.

McCarthy and Little would hope to get good support from the other end in the form of Ben White, George Dockrell, and Gavin Hoey, who is yet to make his debut in T20Is.

Hoey will look at the second match against the West Indies as an opportunity to put on a strong performance to cement his place in the team.

Gavin Hoey will be guided by Dockrell, who is the most experienced spinner in Ireland's squad.

White, on the other hand, will also look to deliver a strong performance to make a mark against the former T20 World Cup champions.
