Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has given a fitting reply to a Twitter user who accused him of unreasonably praising Virat Kohli. The Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, could not be successful in the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton, suffering an eight-wicket loss. Irfan Pathan, who was commentating, had been accused of praising Kohli irrationally and the former cricketer has hit back.
Virat Kohli’s performance in the decider was not particularly inspiring as he scored only 55 runs in the match, including 44 in the first innings. The 32-year old mainly came under fire for his shot selection in the second innings as he chased a wide delivery, nicking it to BJ Watling behind the stumps and losing his wicket to Kyle Jamieson in both innings.
Irfan Pathan, whose commentary and analysis, faced accusations of praising Virat Kohli blindfolded and a Twitter user questioned whether he gets paid to do that. The former left-arm swing bowler addressed the Indian captain as the best player in the world as his tweet read, “So you don’t want me to praise the best player in the world??”. The user also returned with a reply, advising Pathan not to praise Kohli like a fan boy as the right-handed batsman has his own limitations.
Below is Irfan Pathan’s reply to the Twitter user:
So you don’t want me to praise the best player in the world??

Praise as much as possible, but don't start praising like a fan boy. Moreover, even the best player has some flaws. Point out them too. ?
