Former left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan illustrated that the best thing that happened to Indian cricket has been Rahul Dravid taking up the role of Head Coach at the NCA. There has been a lot of rumours about Rahul Dravid being the next Indian coach after Ravi Shastri which is unlikely to happen if stays as NCA head coach.
Dravid’s tenure comes to an end in the month of September while Ravi Shastri‘s tenure comes to an end in November. Dravid has already reapplied for the head coach of NCA as BCCI invited applications for the role and he is expected to win the race hands down.
Irfan Pathan Credits Rahul Dravid For The Role He Has Played
Irfan Pathan explained that India has been fortunate enough to get the services of Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the NCA and hailed him for his dedication towards the work. He added about the success Dravid had in the coaching role with the Indian U-19 side and Indian-A side.
“The best thing that has happened to Indian cricket is Rahul (Dravid) getting associated with NCA. I have a huge amount of respect for him. Rahul bhai has performed his role with utmost sincerity. Look, we know how Rahul Dravid got involved in U19 and India A.”
Irfan Pathan Explains The Various Attributes Of Rahul Dravid
Irfan Pathan notified the involvement Dravid shows in his work as a coach and explained how Dravid could understand their perspective as well, being very fascinating. He added that he has huge respect for him as he is very level headed always.
“But how he gets involved in each and every coach as well in terms of sharing his knowledge, listening from their perspective as well which for a guy of his calibre is a big task.” Irfan Pathan told to Crictracker.
“But he does it with such ease. That’s why you have a huge amount of respect. It doesn’t matter if you have played 1 or 100 first-class games, he gives you the same amount of respect,” he added.
Rahul Dravid travelled with the Indian team of youngsters as the head coach for a limited-overs series in Sri Lanka and did a great job.
