Australian Golds’ Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 season got off to an exciting start with a four-wicket triumph over Irish Olives at Delhi’s Yamuna Sports Complex Cricket Ground on Monday
Ruhan Pretorius, the captain of the Irish Olives, chose to bat first after winning the toss. They were able to score just 124/7 in their allotted 20 overs thanks to CJ Walt’s vital contribution of 36 runs in 40 balls with the help of 4 boundaries.
The Australian Golds’ star bowler, Payas Bidwai, took two wickets while only giving up 17 runs in four overs. Additionally, Sathpath Kalum claimed two wickets while conceding just 23 runs in his four overs.
Callum Ferguson’s Knock Help Australian Golds’ Campaign To A Winning Start
In response, the Australian Golds overcame the target with three deliveries left with captain Callum Ferguson‘s playing an undefeated knock of 53 off 41 balls including 3 boundaries. He got good support from Shaminda Eranga, who played a handy knock of 42 in 34 balls including 2 fours and sixes each.
They were able to recover their team from 32-4 by adding 83 runs for the 5th wicket.
For Irish Olives, CJ Walt starred with the ball as well, claiming two wickets by conceding 26 runs in his four overs.
