Former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik revealed that he went through a scary paranormal experience once during his playing times. Karthik mentioned that he witnessed this experience during a tour of South Africa.
Karthik recently retired from international cricket after the IPL 2024 season for RCB. He also played his last match for RCB this season and the franchise decided to appoint him as the batting coach of the team from the next season of IPL.
In IPL 2024, Karthik was brilliant with the bat and played a key role in RCB's road to the playoffs. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 326 runs in 13 innings of the season at an average of 36.22 and a strike rate of 187.35. Even at the end of his career, he showed some high-class finishing skills.

Dinesh Karthik narrates a scary experience during his playing days
In a video uploaded by Cricbuzz on their YouTube channel, Dinesh Karthik spoke about his experience when he was with India A team for the tour of South Africa.
"When we were staying in Sun City, I felt something awkward and weird moving in the room in the night at a weird time. I don't know exactly what it was but I can tell you, it was a scary feeling," Karthik said.
Karthik was young during this time and was aiming to make a place for himself in the Indian senior team. He made his international debut in September 2004 against England in an ODI at Lord's.
"I would love to swap lives with AR Rahman" - Dinesh Karthik
In the same video, a fan asked Karthik which person he would like to swap his lives for a week. The 39-year-old took legendary singer AR Rahman's name as he loves his creativity. Karthik also added that he would love to read AR Rahman's mind and what he goes through.
"I would love to swap lives with AR Rahman. Been his biggest fan, never met him, I would love to see how much creativity goes through. I mean, he is a genius par excellence. I've loved his music and how consistent he has been for almost three decades," Karthik mentioned.
"I would love to go into his brain and see what ticking. I've heard he works a lot through the night. That'll be a challenge but I still wouldn't mind getting into his brain," he added.
Dinesh Karthik's last international match
Currently, Dinesh Karthik is working in the ongoing Hundred 2024 season as a commentator. He has previously been involved in the same role as well. Surprisingly, Dinesh Karthik will be seen playing for Paarl Royals for the upcoming SA20 season. The right-hander was signed by the franchise earlier this month.
Dinesh Karthik played his last international match in the T20 World Cup 2022 against Bangladesh. He started his career as a top-order batter but his form dipped and he lost his place in the Indian team.
But Karthik worked his way back into the Indian team on the back of some stupendous performances as a finisher. Much of the credit for this change goes to Abhishek Nayar, who had a big role to play in Karthik's comeback.
