With 571 runs in 33 T20Is, including a match-winning 72 not out, the 27-year-old has highlighted the grit and resilience that the Tigers are banking on for success against the top teams like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in the upcoming continental tournament.

Jaker Ali told reporters in a press conference, “Of course. This time we are going to the Asia Cup with the goal of becoming champions. Personally, I can say that I am going there only to win the championship. And everyone in the dressing room also believes it. Bangladesh to begin Asia Cup 2025 campaign on September 9

Bangladesh will begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign on September 9 against Hong Kong at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. They are slotted in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Oman; the Tigers know that early wins will set the tone for them in the tournament.

However, the star batter has insisted that the Tigers will not take any team lightly and aim to play their own brand of cricket in the upcoming tournament. Currently, the Tigers are gearing up to face the Netherlands in the three-match T20I series, starting on August 30.

Jaker signed off by saying, “There’s no chance of taking things lightly. Our mindset is that our plan will remain the same—the way we usually play our brand of cricket, we’ll play the same way against any team. So, we’ll prepare in that manner to ensure we can deliver a good performance.”
