James Neesham ruled out of SA20 2024

New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham has been ruled out of the remainder of the SA20 2024. Neesham was signed to the Pretoria Capitals and the franchise informed about the same and posted on their official ‘X’ handle.
James Neesham sustained an injury during the previous encounter against Sunrisers Eastern Cape and now has been ruled out from the remainder of the tournament. Pretoria Capitals have announced Jacques Snyman as the replacement for James Neesham.
Neesham played an important innings of 27 runs and was the highest run scorer of the team against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Neesham put up a stand of 52 runs for the Shane Dadswell and helped the team post 125 runs on the board. Later, Pretoria Capitals were able to win the match by 3 runs.
Pretoria Capitals stated that James Neesham has been ruled out from the remainder of the SA20 2024 due to the injury he sustained during the match against Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Thursday. The Capitals also wished Neesham a speedy recovery.

The SA20 2024 has not been as great for James Neesham as he would have liked. The latter has scored 80 runs so far from 6 matches at an average of 13.33. His highest score has been 27 runs whereas his strike rate is 103.89. James Neesham has also picked 4 wickets with the ball from 6 games at an economy rate of 9.45 and at an average of 16.50.
Batting first against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals were not off to a pleasing start as they lost opener Will Jacks against Eastern Cape bowler Marco Jansen for a duck. Phil Salt was also not able to do much and departed after scoring 20 runs from 9 balls and became the second victim of Marco Jansen. Kyle Verreynne was knocked over by Daniel Worrall for 9 runs whereas, Rilee Rossouw also walked back after scoring 13 runs from 12 balls.
Colin Ingram also didn’t do much and walked back after scoring 4 runs from 6 balls. Shane Dadswell and J James Neesham added the necessary runs for the 6th wicket and played important in helping the team post a fighting first-innings total. Dadswell was dismissed for 24 runs by Liam Dawson whereas, James Neesham was run out by Aiden Markram.
Captain Wayne Parnell scored 13 runs from 14 balls whereas none of the batsmen from the lower order were able to add many runs. At the end, Pretoria Capitals’ innings was ended before 20 overs.
Marco Jansen and Daniel Worrall picked up 3 and 2 wickets each for Sunrisers Eastern Cape whereas, Liam Dawson and Aiden Markram picked up 1 wicket apiece.
Chasing down the target, Sunrisers Eastern Cape were reduced to 32/4 when Pretoria Capitals bowlers Eathan Bosch, Daryn Dupavillon, and Adil Rashid ripped through the top order of the Aiden Markram-led side. Openers Adam Rossington and Dawid Malan were dismissed for 4 and 6 respectively whereas Jordan Hermann and Markram fell for 8 and 3 runs.
Tristan Stubbs (35) and Patrick Kruger (22) added the necessary runs for the 5th wicket and put up a stand of 40 runs from 35 balls. However, Pretoria Capitals continued to attack with the ball and after the departure of both the batsmen, the lower order failed to add more runs In the end, Sunrisers Eastern Cape ended their innings at 122/9 and lost the match by 3 runs.
Adil Rashid and Wayne Parnell picked up 3 wickets each with the ball whereas Daryn Dupavillon and Eathan Bosch picked up 2 and 1 wicket each.
