Bumrah was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after suffering a lower back injury during the Sydney Test. He is expected to return to action in the IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians (MI) will begin their campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23.
Sab Theek Hai? Mummy Theek Hai - Jasprit Bumrah
At a recent promotional event, Jasprit Bumrah recalled his on-field exchange with Sam Konstas in Sydney. Bumrah jokingly said he had asked Konstas if everything was fine at home. He added that Konstas confirmed all was good. Bumrah said that it wasn’t a serious altercation, just a natural part of the game.
"Pata nahi isme to aapko kuch aur lag raha hoga, main to usse puch raha tha ki 'sab theek hai? Mummy theek hai, ghar par sab theek hai? Usne bola 'haan theek hai' to maine bola 'Acha theek hai ab ball daal deta hoon'. Aap logo ne kuch aur interpret kar liya hoga. I think udhar words nahi the to maybe miscommunication ho gaya hoga," Bumrah said.
('I don't know if you will be feeling something else, I mainly asked him, 'Is everything okay?' Is your mother fine, is everything at home fine?' He said 'Yes, it's fine?' to which I said 'Now, I will bowl'. You guys must have interpreted it some thing else. I think the lack of words may have caused some miscommunication.)
"Incidents like these happen when the game is close. We were wasting some time, they were trying to do it as well. We were trying to put some pressure. But, that's not the best example. I am not angry all the time but sometimes, it happens," he added.
Always a Privilege When You Get Such an Honour - Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah was spotted in Dubai for the match between India and Pakistan on February 23. He received multiple ICC accolades, including Men's Cricketer of the Year and Men's Test Player of the Year. He was also named in both the Men's Test Team of the Year and T20I Team of the Year.
After receiving his ICC awards, Bumrah said that it was special. He called it a privilege to be honored with such recognition.
“It feels really good. As a child, I'd seen some of my childhood heroes win this (Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy) award. Always a privilege when you get such an honour,” Bumrah said after receiving his ICC Awards.
Jasprit Bumrah Left Frustrated by Sam Konstas' Gesture
During the final over on Day 1 of the fifth Test, Sam Konstas attempted to delay Jasprit Bumrah from bowling so that his batting partner, Usman Khawaja, could get extra time before facing the next delivery.
This gesture visibly frustrated Bumrah. In response, the Indian pacer charged in with intensity and dismissed Khawaja off the last ball. Bumrah then turned towards Konstas while celebrating the wicket with his teammates.
On the following day, Bumrah suffered a lower back injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the Test. India went on to lose the match by six wickets. Bumrah, who captained India in the first and last Tests of the series, was named Player of the Series for finishing as the highest wicket-taker.
