Jasprit Bumrah required only three balls to leave his mark in the ongoing India vs Afghanistan T20I match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. On the official second ball of the very first over of the match, the ace pacer claimed a wicket and a record as well.
The wicket of the Afghanistan National Cricket Team opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz marked Bumrah's 350th T20 International wicket. Before Jasprit Bumrah, there were only a limited number of bowlers who had touched the milestone for the India National Cricket Team. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal are the other two bowlers in the list of Indian bowlers with 350 T20I wickets for the Men in Blue.

Bumrah makes his return to the Indian cricket team after missing out on a few matches due to a knee injury. During the second ODI match in England, the seamer injured himself while fielding.
The knee injury on his left leg forced him to miss the remainder of the series against England and then the entire series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. In the lead-up to the 2027 ODI World Cup, Bumrah's form is crucial for the team. Later in the month, there will be the Asian Games 2026 in Japan as well.
The return of Jasprit Bumrah did not go according to the plan. On the very first delivery, the fast bowler conceded five extra runs. He pitch the ball well outside of the leg of the batter, which went further on the leg and beat the keeper's gloves to touch the boundary rope. Sanju Samson was the keeper who stretched his body to stop the ball but could not got to it.
Bumrah got back right on the money on the following delivery. Rahmanullah Gurbaz nearly lost his wicket on that delivery as he produced a thick inside edge. In the next ball, the opener was completely bamboozled by the bounce of the ball. The experienced fast bowler surprised the batter by generating extra bounce from the deck.
