Amid several requests from former cricketers to make Jasprit Bumrah play for India in their upcoming fixture in Manchester, the ace pacer is all set to be available for the game, as per RevSportz.
The very day when India lost the Lord's Test, the former cricketers started urging the star cricketer as well as the Indian management to feature Bumrah in the upcoming Tests as well. Jasprit Bumrah has bagged 12 wickets so far in the series, with two 5-wicket hauls.
However, it is not to be forgotten that India won the Edgbaston Test when Jasprit Bumrah was rested by the Indian management as a part of his workload management plans. India and the BCCI had earlier clarified that Jasprit Bumrah will only be available to play in not more than 3 matches in the India tour of the England Test series.
Jasprit Bumrah should play in Manchester, suggested former Indian coach
Bumrah, rested for the second Test, had already received widespread criticism, as there was a resting phase of a week between the first two Tests. This included a major thrashing from former Indian coach Ravi Shastri.
Former Indian coach and veteran Indian spinner Anil Kumble urged Jasprit Bumrah to be part of India's playing 11 for both the upcoming Tests. He also went on to say that Bumrah's absence might mark the end of India's chances in the series, as this is a do-or-die contest at Manchester.
Kumble even suggested that he should play in both the remaining matches of the Test series, as after the end of the series, he can skip the home series.
"Not winning with Bumrah but are winning without him," Massive bomb dropped ahead of Manchester Test
Unlike others who have pressed their praising button for Bumrah, Aakash Chopra has identified that though Bumrah has made a huge impact in the first innings of both the Tests he has featured in, his effect seemed to have faded towards the back end, especially in the second innings.
“Bumrah must play the next Test match. You are 2-1 down and would want to go to the Oval at 2-2.
"So, he should play the next match for sure. Of course, there is a problem, and I don't know why it is that we are not winning with Bumrah but are winning without him," Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
With limited Bumrah action, Mohammed Siraj has an overload of workload
Though everyone is mostly busy with claims of Bumrah's workload management, Aakash Chopra, in his recent YouTube session, has identified that it is unjust to neglect Mohammed Siraj's growing workload due to Bumrah's absence in the Indian 11.
Mohammed Siraj has toiled the most among Indian bowlers, as he is the only Indian pacer to have featured in all three games played so far in England. Siraj has bowled the third-most overs in the series, behind English pacers Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse.
Considering Mohammed Siraj's growing workload, Jasprit Bumrah should make himself available to feature in both the Tests, ruling out coach Gautam Gambhir's ideology of plans being upheld and scorelines not affecting them.
