Jasprit Bumrah's Test retirement announced in the middle of India vs England

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has raised concerns over Jasprit Bumrah’s future in Test cricket following Day 3 (Friday, July 25) of the fourth Test against England. Kaif hinted that the pacer could be nearing the end of his red-ball career, adding that he is unlikely to play for India in the upcoming Tests.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled only one over with the second new ball before leaving the field. He returned after the tea break and bowled a few more overs, but his pace dipped below 130 kmph at times. The 31-year-old rolled his ankle while walking down the stairs, which may have disrupted his rhythm.
Mohammad Kaif Predicts Jasprit Bumrah May Retire from Tests Amid England Tour
Mohammad Kaif predicted that Jasprit Bumrah might step away from red-ball cricket due to ongoing fitness concerns. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif added that Bumrah might voluntarily retire if he feels he can no longer perform at his peak for India’s success.
"I think you may not see him (Jasprit Bumrah) playing in the upcoming Test matches, and he may even retire. He is struggling with his body, and we have seen his pace drop in this Test match," Kaif said.
"He is a self-respecting person. If he feels that he isn't able to give his 100 per cent for his country, pick wickets and win matches, then he himself will refuse. That's my gut feeling," he added.

Bumrah has bowled 28 overs in England’s first innings but has managed to take just one wicket. England had reached 544/7 at stumps on Day 3, with a lead of 186 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah Can Dismiss Batters at Will - Mohammad Kaif
Kaif stated that Bumrah managed to get Jamie Smith caught behind, but the delivery lacked its usual zip, forcing the wicketkeeper to dive forward for the catch. He added that a fully fit Bumrah would generate enough bounce for the ball to carry above the keeper’s shoulders.
"Whether he got wickets or not is a different thing, but the speed at which he bowled was around 125-130 kmph. The wicket that he took, the wicketkeeper had to dive forward to take the catch," Kaif continued.
"A fit Bumrah gets caught behind above the keeper's shoulders. His balls zip past the batters; it doesn't matter if it's Joe Root or Ben Stokes. He is such a bowler who can dismiss batters at will."
Joe Root scored 150 off 248 deliveries, while captain Ben Stokes remained unbeaten on 77 from 134 balls. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar picked up two wickets each, while Anshul Kamboj and Mohammed Siraj claimed one apiece.
Indian Fans Should Be Prepared to Watch Test Matches Without Jasprit Bumrah - Mohammad Kaif
Mohammad Kaif said that Indian cricket fans might have to get used to watching Test matches without Jasprit Bumrah. Kaif added that the pacer no longer appears to be enjoying his bowling.
"First, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R Ashwin went, and now maybe our Indian fans should be prepared to watch Test matches without Jasprit Bumrah. I pray that my prediction goes wrong, but from what I have seen in this Test, it seems to me that he is not enjoying it at all," Kaif opined.
Bumrah was given a break during the second Test to manage his workload. Notably, the team management had confirmed that he would feature in only three of the five matches. The fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is do-or-die for India, who trail 1-2 in the series.
