Former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Wasim Jaffer has brutally trolled the England National Cricket Team for their poor ODI ranking.

Wasim Jaffer also put the former English captain Michael Vaughan in the crosshairs and took a vicious dig at him, even demanding the intervention of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the matter.

England at No. 8… surely against the spirit of cricket - Wasim Jaffer

England are currently at the No.8 spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings with 3051 points and 87 rating. India are sitting at the top of the rankings, followed by New Zealand and Australia at No.2 and No.3.

Seeing the poor position of the English team in the ICC ODI Team Rankings and them being annihilated by the Proteas at home, Wasim Jaffer found the opportunity to launch an attack.

Wasim Jaffer hilariously stated that England being at the No.8 position is against the spirit of cricket, and the Jay Shah-led ICC should urgently look into the matter.

He also tagged his arch-nemesis, Michael Vaughan, in his post. Notably, Jaffer mentioned "spirit of cricket" because the discussions about sportsmanship, fair play, and conduct keep happening in matches involving England, and it intensified during the recent Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

"England at No. 8… surely against the spirit of cricket. ICC should look into this. @MichaelVaughan," Wasim Jaffer wrote on X.i

Also, Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan are known for their light-hearted banters on X and their feud, which has been going on for a long time, involves witty digs, clever memes, and jokes that keep fans hooked.

One of those bad days and we have got to move on as soon as possible - Harry Brook

Being invited to bat first against the Proteas on Tuesday, September 2, the hosts were bowled out for 131 with only Jamie Smith hitting a good fifty. With the ball, England were quite poor and allowed the run-chase to be completed in 20.5 overs.

Speaking after that match, England skipper Harry Brook said they had a bad day, which they need to forget quickly.

"Not ideal. Not a great start to the series. One of those bad days and we have got to move on as soon as possible. Everybody will hold their hands up and say it was a bad day apart from Smudge.

"We couldn't get a partnership. It held up on the pitch a little bit but I don't want to go into too much detail."

He kept on chucking it and gave his 100 percent - Harry Brook on Sonny Baker

England's new pace sensation Sonny Baker had a horrible debut in international cricket as he conceded the most runs by an England bowler on men's ODI debut, with 0 for 76 from 7 overs. Harry Brook talked about the youngster's struggles and said that he gave his 100%.

"(if the toss made a difference) Hopefully we would have bowled like them, they bowled well. (on how he wants his side to play) Go out and bang it and then take wickets as quickly as possible," Brook said.

"Sonny Baker got a bit of tap but the way he kept coming back was nice to see. He kept on chucking it and gave his 100 percent. We used it as a practice session at the end and nice to see the lads go out their business. We travel to London and want to put this behind us," he added.
