There has been speculation over who will succeed Jay Shah as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary following his appointment as ICC chairman. With less than a month left before Shah steps down, there is still no clarity on the new appointment, and no name has been finalized yet.
Shah will officially take over as the ICC chairman on December 1. He was elected unopposed, succeeding New Zealand's Greg Barclay, who decided to decline a third term. The 35-year-old becomes the youngest-ever ICC chairman. The board of directors had finalized nominations for the new chief by August 27.
With no other candidates nominated, the BCCI secretary's path to becoming ICC chairman was clear. He was unanimously elected for the position, becoming the fifth Indian to lead the ICC. Shah joined the list of administrators, including Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan, and Shashank Manohar.

He is not in the race to replace Jay Shah as the next Secretary and the Indian cricket board is yet to take any call as far as the Secretary is concerned. It will be taken in due course of time," says a BCCI official privy to developments, as quoted by The Times Of India.
