India took on Sri Lanka in the final of the Asian Games 2023. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led produced a magnificent effort as they thumped the opposition by 19 runs to achieve history. The women in Blue attained the gold medal as they were terrific in the final.
The key architect behind that was Jemimah Rodrigues. In what was a tricky pitch to play on, she held on to the fort and played one of her finest innings. She slammed 42 runs off 40 balls that powered India to a total of 116 runs and eventually won the match. The batter also hit four boundaries.
Apart from Jemimah Rodrigues, Smriti Mandhana also moved one step up to No.3. The opening played a staggering knock in the final of the Asian Games 2023. She scored 45 runs and along with Rodrigues stitched a vital partnership for her team to take them to a fighting total.
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was dropped one spot down to 13th rank. She didn’t have a good outing in the Asian Games 2023. She was dropped from 12th Spot, which is now acquired by her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues. The Indian women scored just 2 runs off 5 balls in the summit clash.
