Indian Women’s Team Pacer Jhulan Goswami has achieved a new milestone. She became the first women cricketer to bowl 10,000 deliveries in the history of ODI Cricket. The pacer won’t have asked for a better feat after signing off at Lord’s. The right arm pacer has been an integral part of the Team as she was quite impeccable in her line & length.

Indian Women’s Cricket Team will have to work on their consistency as they got bundled out for a paltry 169 runs. Every time the bowlers won’t bail the team out the likes of Shefali Verma needs to play sensibly and work on her off-side channel weakness as the opposition is targeting that only.

Jhulan Goswami on her Career

Ahead of the match, Jhulan thanked everyone for their contribution in her career. “I’d like to thank the BCCI, my friends, my family, my coaches, teammates, captains. Everyone, thanks for this opportunity, this is a very special moment. I have to (keep emotions in check), I can’t come with all those emotions onto the cricket field. As a ruthless character, I have to come out and play hard cricket and give my best (to go out on a high at Lord’s),” she said.

Memorable Encounter

England Women’s Team would have thought that chasing 170 runs would be a cakewalk. The hosts were desperately looking to avoid humiliation. The hosts should have been more careful with the first 20 overs as the required run rate was never an issue as they had batters present who could make up for that time.

India’s bowler pulled off a heist as they reduced England’s score to 65-7 in 17 overs. The bowlers hunted in the pack as they were not dependent on a single individual to take 6-7 wickets. The Men in Blue showed fighting spirit as later the hosts made a staggering comeback. If Deepti Sharma wouldn’t run rout Dean Charlotte at the nonstriker’s end it was all England’s game. This match would be remembered for the Mankad and Jhulan Goswami as a Legend bid adieu to International Cricket.
