The much-anticipated five-match Test series between England and India will be played from June 20 to August 4. According to the schedule, the opening match will take place at Headingley from June 20 to 24. The remaining Test matches will be played at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford, and The Kia Oval.

"Cricbuzz can confirm that the premier sports broadcast network in the country has completed a digital deal with Sony Entertainment Network, or Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited," the report read.

"Negotiations between the networks have been underway for the past month, and an agreement is believed to have been reached in the last 24 hours. Sony has agreed to sub-license the digital streaming of the matches but has retained the linear rights of the series, which will now be shown on the Sony Sports network."

India’s White-Ball Tour of England 2026 to Stream on JioHotstar

No official statements have been released yet by Sony or JioHotstar, but an announcement is expected later today. The agreement also includes India’s white-ball tour of England in 2026, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is.

"It is understood that the current arrangement between Sony and Jio Star extends to next year's white ball series as well. India are to play three ODIs and five Twenty20 Internationals in England in 2026 summer and JioStar will broadcast those eight games as well."

Sony secured broadcast rights for all England cricket matches in India through an eight-year deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) signed last year. The ECB played an important role in the sublicensing agreement between Sony and JioHotstar.

India and England 2021-22 Test Series

The IND vs ENG 2021-22 Test series was a thrilling contest between two cricketing teams. After a rain-affected draw in Nottingham, the visiting team took a strong lead at Lord’s, with elegant batting from KL Rahul (129) and Mohammed Siraj’s match-winning eight-wicket haul.

England responded with an innings victory in Leeds, after Joe Root’s century and Ollie Robinson’s five-wicket haul. India bounced back at The Oval to win by 157 runs. The fifth Test, delayed by COVID-19, was played in Birmingham during India’s next tour.

Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja’s centuries helped India post a strong total. Despite defending a large target, IND were stunned by England’s aggressive “Bazball” approach, as Root and Bairstow’s unbeaten centuries helped England chase down the target and level the series 2-2.
