Indian wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma has picked Rohit Sharma in comparison to the greats like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who have played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Some have been overjoyed by the fact that an RCB player has belittled the veteran Virat Kohli.

Jitesh Sharma made his debut for India back in IPL 2023, after some promising seasons for the Punjab Kings. The Royal Challengers Bangalore picked Jitesh Sharma for a whopping amount of money back in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, as he was bought for INR 11 crores.

He had a splendid season playing for the RCB, with just 9 runs behind completing 1000 runs in the IPL. He made his debut for the Punjab Kings back in 2022 and scored 234, 309, 187, and 361 runs overall this season. With a strike rate of 175+, he amassed 261 runs at an average of 37.29 for RCB.

RCB vice-captain picks Rohit Sharma as a favourite over Virat Kohli

What further surprised was when the presenter asked them to pick a favourite player between Rohit Sharma and the Royal Challengers Bangalore's former captain, Virat Kohli. The RCB batsman, without much hesitation, picked Rohit over Virat Kohli.

Jitesh said, "Rohit Bhai. I think I am emotionally connected with him. When I had an interaction back in IPL 2017-18, I have been an admirer of his since then. When I was just a 22-23-year-old, I was first picked for the Mumbai Indiana, and I witnessed him playing. I think he brings some different skills alongside him."
