In the very first ball of the match, the England international clinched the wicket of the RCB opener. Behind the stumps, Dhruv Jurel made no mistake to glove the ball. RCB lost their first wicket without scoring a single run.

The match, which was actually scheduled to start from 7.30 PM, started at 8.40 PM, because of drizzles in Guwahati and followed by a wet outfield. The groundsmen of the Barsapara Stadium did a brilliant job of preparing the ground appropriately for the high-profile clash. Under wet weather, the Rajasthan Royals pacer, Jofra Archer, quickly turned on the heat by clinching a wicket. A massive blow for RCB.

Watch the fall of a wicket here:

It was an absolute delight to watch the delivery from the pacer. With the new ball in hand, the English pacer hit the deck hard and generated extra bounce from it. There was pace, and some movement as well. After hitting the deck hard, the ball sharply moved into the batter's zone.

Phil Salt was surprised by the extra pace and bounce

Phil Salt, England international, who knows Archer very well, was caught in surprise. The right-handed batter might not have expected Jofra to welcome him with that kind of delivery. Salt could not do much to counter the delivery. In the end, he tried to bend down to pick up the ball. But by the time he bent a few inches, the ball hit and went high in the air and went behind the stumps. Dhruv Jurel took an easy catch. Absolute jaffa from Jofra Archer.

Archer struck again. This time the victim was Devdutt Padikkal, who was an in-form batter for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His wicket too was taken by Jofra Archer.

Devdutt Padikkal also fell short vs Jofra Archer

Devdutt Padikkal was looking in striking form again when he faced the first few balls. Without making any further delay, the batter instantly shifted gears to find the gaps between the fielders. In those seven balls he faced, there were three 4s with his name. Padikkal was dismissed after scoring 14 runs from 7 balls with a strike rate of 200.00.

On the last delivery of the third over of the innings, Jofra Archer steamed in around the wicket and launched a back-of-the-length delivery on the leg. Devdutt Padikkal tried to whip it away but produced a top edge. The ball went high towards the deep backward square leg. Shimron Hetmyer almost dropped the chance but somehow managed to hold the ball in his palms.
