The wicketkeeper-batter reached the landmark during the course of his stunning performance in England’s chase of 322 runs. He played an aggressive innings of 69 runs from just 49 balls, hitting five fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 140.82 before retiring hurt because of an injury.
Jos Buttler completes 10,000 ODI and T20I runs
Jos Buttler has been one of England’s most important limited-overs batters for many years. The former England captain has scored 5,678 runs at an average of 39.15 and a strike rate of 115.54 in 204 matches and 176 innings in the ODI format.
His ODI record includes 11 centuries and 30 half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 162. He is currently England’s third-highest ODI run-scorer.
Speaking about his T20I stats, Buttler is England’s leading run-scorer. The Englishman has so far amassed 4,384 runs in 163 matches and 150 innings at an average of 34.79 and an impressive strike rate of 150.13. He also has two centuries and 30 half-centuries in T20Is to his name.

Buttler’s overall international numbers

Overall, Buttler has now 12,969 international runs to his name in 424 matches and 426 innings across all three formats. He has an overall average of 35.82 and a strike rate of 98.25. He has so far amassed 15 centuries and 78 half-centuries across the three formats of the game.
Jos Buttler doubtful for Sri Lanka series decider
Jos Buttler suffered a major injury scare when he attempted a drive against Sri Lankan spinner Dunith Wellalage in the 21st over of the second ODI at Leeds. While playing the shot, Buttler felt discomfort in his hamstring and immediately struggled to move freely.
The England batter was forced to limp towards the boundary after the injury scare. Buttler will undergo further assessment over the next 48 hours to determine the seriousness of the problem. Sky Sports has reported that he is currently considered doubtful for the ODI series decider against Sri Lanka at The Oval on September 27.
Notably, Sri Lanka won the thrilling high-scoring second ODI by 16 runs against England to level the three-match ODI series at 1-1. Kusal Mendis was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 121 runs against England at Leeds.
