Bangladesh's pace bowling coach Andre Adams has fired a warning to Pakistan ahead of the two-match Test series, saying there is no reason why they can’t script the history on the upcoming tour despite their history of struggles and dismal record in Pakistan.

Adams pointed out that the key to a successful Test series lies in overcoming two critical challenges: scoring sufficient runs and executing effective bowling strategies. The pace bowling coach said that there's a renewed sense of optimism within the Bangladesh cricket team to win the games on the Pakistan tour.

He highlighted the importance of batting resilience and the ability to adapt to challenging conditions, especially on flat wickets where scoring runs becomes crucial. Adams also stressed that Bangladesh's batting lineup has the determination and capability to rise to the occasion.

The bowling coach also warned that if the Bangladesh cricket team failed to post enough runs on the board, they couldn’t win the matches in the upcoming Test series in Pakistan, starting on August 21 in Rawalpindi.

Adams admitted that it is a huge challenge, but with the right approach and preparation, Bangladesh can rewrite history and prove their mettle against Pakistan in Test cricket.

As the Tigers aim to break their pattern of poor performances in Pakistan, the New Zealander said that his team could very well turn their fortunes around despite the hosts being above them in the rankings.

He also warned Pakistan that they should not take Bangladesh lightly because of their poor record, saying they have every reason to break the jinx on the upcoming tour.

I think we have great chances to win Test series in Pakistan: Andre Adams

Andre Adams was quoted as saying by The Daily Star: “Yes, I think we have great chances. The biggest challenge in Tests is whether you can put both innings together. It's very difficult to win matches if you don't score enough runs. Unfortunately, for the batters, it always comes down to whether they can actually put runs on the board so that the bowlers have a chance to defend it.”

However, the Bangladesh coach said that this is a challenge for both sides, saying if you don't bowl well and bat well, you can't win matches in Test cricket. Adams stressed that they have to put up enough runs on the board to win the matches in Pakistan, but said that Bangladeshi batters have now got more determination and understanding of playing Test cricket.

Adams signed off by saying, “When you are going to play on a flat wicket, you have to score runs. It's going to be a huge challenge. They are ranked above us in Test cricket. We just need to do well in these aspects. You just need to be prepared to play the long game. But there's actually no reason why this group of batters can't score runs. No reason as well for the bowlers why they can't take all the wickets. Just because we haven't done it yet doesn't mean we can't.”
