Kamran Akmal accuses Pakistan of favouritism ahead of PAK vs BAN first Test

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Kamran Akmal thrashed the current team for favoritism ahead of the Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He said that the wind is blowing in the same direction as it has been there for 5-6 years.

Pakistan National Cricket Team will be taking on Bangladesh in the two-match Test series. The opening game will be played on 21st August in Rawalpindi, followed by a second game at the same venue after the game was out of Karachi due to construction work.

Pakistan have included some fresh faces in the team for the two-match Test series. The squad will be captained by Shan Masood, and some of the big names also have been dropped from the squad, which has sent a strong message, especially after a tough few months for the team.

Pakistan had named just one spinner in the team, Abrar Ahmed, and he, too, won't be part of the first match. Ahead of the first game, he was excluded from the squad because the team wanted to go for the all-pace attack on a track that they wanted to be grassy.

Kamran Akmal talked about the Pakistan combination, saying that they could've played a batter less to adjust a spinner. He stressed that the way things are going, clearly depicts that there is favoritism in the team. He added that if such things are not controlled, the team will not improve. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal explained:

"You could have made a batsman play less. Shan is playing at 3rd and could have opened. You could not have played Opener. If you don't want to play an opener, that is also a big debate. That is also not an easy decision. And the direction in which this wind is blowing, everyone knows.

"Who is getting support, And what has started now? What we have been saying for the past 5-6 years, this work is going to start in the future as well. The team that I am seeing, the team that has been announced, how mindset is going. But if you don't control these things, your cricket will never improve," said Kamran Akmal.

Kamran Akmal further added that Pakistan will not be able to give good performances because they are selecting teams based on the groups. He also pointed out that players who should be playing in the Pakistan Shaheens squad are playing in the team. He added:

"We will never be able to give a good performance. Because we want to play or win for Pakistan. Here, only the Pakistan team is picked, based on the strong group. The group that dominated for 5-6 years, now the second group has come. I am saying this openly. Now that group will dominate.

"And it is also visible. The boy who should have been sent to the A team is a part of the squad, play him there and he should perform. Neither is he performing in the A team nor he is performing in the Pakistan team. And you have forcibly kept him with you," Kamran Akmal concluded.
