Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev advised Indian fans to be more conscious in the future if any victory parade happens in any city, and shouldn’t make the same mistake that was made in Bengaluru by the common people.
People shouldn’t make this type of mistake in the future, as where they go to have fun, but their fun turns into a tragic incident, and they end up losing their lives in the streets.

Kapil Dev’s advice
There were more than two and a half lakh people outside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium just to get a glimpse of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru players, but the joyful moment turned into a horrific moment as more than 50 people got injured and 11 people died in a stampede.
Dev showed condolences to those who lost their lives and advised fans to be more conscious in future victory parades, as life is more important than a team winning a trophy.
“I feel very bad about that. I think we have to learn from each other. Next time something like this (a victory parade) happens, people should be more conscious. People do make mistakes," Kapil said to PTI.
Kapil Dev also requested RCB and the government to keep sanity while organising these types of victory celebrations, where a large number of people gathered on the streets.
‘Lives are more important’- Kapil Dev
Kapil Dev said that if any team wins any title in the future, then things should be calm and lives are more important than the celebration. People shouldn’t lose their lives while having fun at the celebrations.
“Mistakes should not be to that scale where you are having fun and you lose lives. In the future, if any team wins, keep it calm. Lives are more important than celebration. Let’s put it that way," Kapil Dev added.
RCB's victory parade was also cancelled after seeing the huge crowd, but the celebration took place in the stadium, which has only 35000 people capacity and about 2.5 lakh people were present at the celebration.
Karnataka High Court demanded a status report from the state government on the stampede, which happened outside the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
Karnataka High Court issues notice
The Karnataka High Court took suo motu cognisance of the incident and later issued a notice to the state by asking for a detailed report by June 10 from the government.
The Chief Justice V Kameshwar Rao and Justice CM Joshi directed the court to register the matter as a suo motu public interest litigation petition.
The advocate general informed the court that an inquiry had been started on the incident and will be completed within 15 days, with all the details about the matter.
