Karun Nair Ends Association With Karnataka; Moves To Vidarbha For His Future Endeavors

Indian batter Karun Nair has ended his association with Karnataka cricket and will now be playing for Vidarbha in domestic cricket. The right-hander confirmed the development on his social media account, thanking the KSCA for their unwavering support. 

Karun Nair has been an incredible servant for Karnataka in the domestic circuit. The right-hander as a player achieved great laurels and apart from that he also captained the team and took to great heights, winning quite a few titles. 

Karun Nair made his debut for Karnataka in 2012 and within one year he was part of the team in all three formats. He scored truckloads of runs across formats for the team and it also helped him get his India cap as well. Apart from being a batter, he also played a handy role for the team with the ball. 

Karun Nair scored 5922 runs in FC cricket at an average of 48.94 to go with 15 tons and 27 half-centuries. He also represented the team in 90 List A games, scoring 2119 runs at an average of over 30 to go with 2 hundreds and 12 fifties. In 150 T20 games he has 2989 runs at a strike rate of 131.15 along with 2 centuries and 16 half-centuries. 

Karun Nair posted a heartfelt message on leaving Karnatka, highlighting his incredible journey. He also thanked his coaches, captains and teammates and said that they played an instrumental role in his growth as a cricketer.

He elaborated: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey l’ve had with the Karnataka State Cricket Association over the last two decades. From the very start of my cricketing career, KSCA has been a guiding light, offering unwavering support that helped shape me into the player I am today. 

“A special thanks to my remarkable coaches, captains, and teammates who I’ve had the privilege of playing under and alongside. Your leadership, mentorship, support and belief in me have been instrumental in my growth as a cricketer,” he added.

Now onto the next exciting adventure – Karun Nair on joining Vidarbha 

Karun Nair further went on to say that by moving to Vidarbha he will be carrying cherished memories, friendships, and skills he gained during his time with KSCA. He added: 

“As I embark on a new chapter with the Vidarbha Cricket Association, I carry with me the cherished memories, friendships, and skills I’ve gained during my time with KSCA. Thank you for being an integral part of my cricketing journey. Now onto the next exciting adventure.”
