The first-ever Women's Hundred Auction in London has turned into a shocking yet embarrassing event for Pakistan, as none of their players managed to secure a contract.

The Women's Hundred 2026 Auction, which was held on March 11, saw teams picking talents from different countries, but Pakistani players didn’t find any buyer.

Pakistan’s left-handed batter Muneeba Ali, fast bowler Diana Baig, left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal, and captain Fatima Sana had registered for the Women's Hundred 2026 Auction with a base price of 15,000 pounds each.

Women’s Hundred Auction delivers a huge shock as Pakistan players are ignored

But only Fatima, Sana, and Sadia Iqbal were shortlisted, and they were also left without deals. This was embarrassing, as Sadia is currently ranked as the No. 1 bowler in women's T20I cricket, while Fatima is among the top all-rounders in the format.

Despite their strong international records, none of the teams showed interest during the auction. Before the auction, reports had already created controversy by claiming that teams connected with the Indian Premier League (IPL) might avoid signing Pakistani players.

At that time, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) clarified that nationality would play no role in selections and that teams would choose players only based on performance, availability, and squad balance. The teams also made the same statement.

Interestingly, several teams in The Hundred now have strong backing from IPL owners. Franchises like Manchester Super Giants, MI London, Southern Brave, and SunRisers Leeds are linked with IPL groups. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Pakistan men’s cricket gets a deal on March 13 for The Hundred men’s tournament.

Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney get record-breaking deals

Well, Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney became the most expensive signings at the first Women's Hundred Auction, each sold for GBP 210,000. England’s Dani Gibson followed with GBP 190,000. South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk grabbed GBP 170,000.

Among uncapped players, Tilly Corteen-Coleman surprised everyone with a GBP 105,000 deal. Other notable picks included Amy Jones (GBP 70,000) and youngster Davina Perrin (GBP 50,000). India’s Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma were bought at their base price at the Women's Hundred 2026 Auction.
